“The Grunt”
Depiction of a Vietnam-era Marine with Marine Corps Huey and Phrog in the background. The United States Marine has been called by many nicknames over the years, such as Leatherneck, Soldiers of the Sea, Gyrenes, Jarheads, Snuffies, Feather Merchants, and various kinds of Birds- – and worse – by their Drill Instructors. As well as Crazy Yellow Legs, Devil Dogs, and many objectionable epitaphs by our enemies. But today’s Marines, often refer to themselves as “Grunt.”
